Co-founder and frontman, Ali is the voice of ARIEL.
Ali learned guitar in 1993, and started the band as he
learned to string chords together. Since then Ali has
rubbed elbows with several other artists like Mark Francombe (CRANES), DJ Arkin Allen/Mercan Dede (producer Peter Murphy).

Ali has received vocal training, tabla training with Ed Hanley and practices bendir/daf [framedrum] with various sufi orders.
